G.U.R.L.S.

Girls Understanding Real Life Success

THE NEED:

Developed in response to our vision to involve youth, with a specific focus on at-risk teenage girls, in programs that give young women an unique opportunity to build a future with economic stability. We want to reach girls at the most influential period in their life and help them create "paths" that lead to careers and college.

OUR GOAL:

G.U.R.L.S. (Girls Understanding Real Life Success) is a program which provides high school girls with lessons to cultivate the personal and business skills that will enable them to make a successful transition into college and the workforce.

Participants will learn and use tools to create action plans to achieve educational and career goals. The focus of the program is to increase self-esteem and confidence, encourage leadership, build networking opportunities and prepare participants for college or vocational training that provide a foundation for financial security and economic stability in a successful future.

Topics include: Diversity; Public Speaking; Body Image; Professionalism; Money Management; College and Career Identification; and more!

The program is offered for eight weeks.
